The push to the north is on and as the fleet battles fickle conditions that means not everything is as one would expect. In fact, at 04:00 GMT, the entire fleet was heading west of north, circling around on itself.

    The winds are shifting as the fleet head north-east in a north-westerly breeze of around 20 knots. The conditions have become less edgy but there are still potholes lurking on the road ahead. Mark Chisnell reports.
